About This Event
Lawyers spend far more time negotiating than they do litigating. Handling negotiations with or on behalf of clients requires some different skills and approaches. When parties have an ongoing business or personal relationship to manage, it gets tricky to handle their legal dispute in a way that meets their future relationship needs. In this two-day interactive workshop, you will learn how to:
Communicate more effectively with your own client - It starts at "hello"!
Establish rapport with the "other side" - the lawyer and the other party
Handle "tactics" that show up at the negotiating table
Manage your professional responsibility to be a "zealous advocate" while attending to clients' relationship needs
Be more authentic and effective in practice
We will train on 2 consecutive Tuesdays - January 28 and February 4, 2020, from 9 am to 3 pm in downtown Charlottetown. Storm date will be February 11th.
