Hosted by the Collaborative Law Institute of Illinois, this one-way workshop will help you be more effective in your collabroative work.
In Collaborative Practice, we promise an interest-based negotiation process that will meet our clients’ needs, address their concerns and give them the best chance to achieve what they hope for. Focusing on "interests" - what matters to our clients - is vital to finding creative and workable solutions for their family.
We know this, and yet many collaborative professionals have experienced the frustration of watching the clients’ interests fall "off the table” when moving into option generation. Often, the clients - and the professionals – return to positions and the process suddenly does not feel very collaborative.
In this 1-day workshop, you will gain insight and learn skills to keep interests “on the table”. Specifically we will work on how to identify and articulate interests in a meaningful and productive way; organize interests into a workable Interests Agenda; and work with interests in option generation to find client-centred solutions.
